Top 6 Best & Worst Type Pairings in Pokémon

Pokémon types are a staple of the series, and putting them together shakes up the combat system and makes it worth the endless grinding. But which type combinations that we've seen truly are the best? And which ones would have been better off never being created?
(I had some trouble wrestling this one out, so please enjoy my labor!)

Another combo that synchronizes perfectly is poison and dark. Poison resists all of dark's weaknesses, while dark is immune to one of poison's. Very good type for tanks.

11:39 Fun fact. In Gen 1, out of all the types Grass/Psychic was weak to, Ice was the only common one in competitive. However, water, psychic, and ground were all very common types. This made grass psychic an amazing type in Gen 1, and is part of the reason why Exeggutor is one of the best pokémon in the game there.

I’d like to give a shoutout to rock grass. It’s a combo that should be awful on paper but they surprisingly cover each other well! Between offense and defense, every grass weakness is covered by rock (resists poison, super effective on fire, ice, bug, and flying) and grass covers rocks weaknesses to water, ground, and grass! Not bad at all!

As a veteran pokemon player who can tell you basically everything there's is about pokemon and who has started playing since RSE was released. I recently found out that rock isn't weak to ice type. It is the Rock/Ground types to blame

The ultimate big brain 10 year old move back in gen iv was realizing that dark/ghost had no weaknesses and thinking the *best* idea would be to action replay in a spiritomb with Wonder Guard.

Honestly I would like to see how poison steel would be as a typing.

Things that poison steel hits super effectively are fairy, grass, ice and rock

Things that poison steel resists are: Normal, grass, fairy (X4 resist), poison (immune), ice, flying, rock, steel, dragon and bug (4x resists). Also if we count the steel pre nerf posion steel would also resist dark and ghost.


Things that can hit poison steel super effectively: Fire, Ground (4× weakness).

Poison steel would be immune to sandstorm, resists stealth rock and soak up Toxic spikes.

Notable moves include:
Toxic spikes
Spikes
Stealth rock
100 percent accurate toxic
Gyro ball
Gunk shot
Body press
Iron defense.

Honestly I think it would be one of the best dual typing available. Also an idea for a Pokémon that could have this typing is to have a regional form of Trubbish and Garbodor where they using rubbish/recycling bins as armor.

Psychic and Ice went from being absolutely broken in gen 1 to being exceedingly mediocre nowadays. Psychic Terrain was a start, but Ice is still suffering.

I would definitely say that Ice-Grass or Ice-Bug are worse than Ice-Psychic...
