Here’s some things you can do instead:
-Read it in html
-Delete the paywall element
-View source
-Disable JavaScript

if you’re on chrome there’s an extension that does exactly the same but with just a press of a button, it’s called behind the overlay

Any "solution" that relies on a third party website isn't a solution, it's just a temporary band-aid that relies one some other platform's control. Locally run FOSS is the only real control.

If it's a paywall that pops up after the actual site loads and replaces the site, you just have to be fast. The instant the site loads just take control a and control c. Then paste the contents of the actual site, before the paywall covers it up, into a word document and read away the article is free.

I’ve found Reader Mode gets around most paywalls pretty well.
