Is it a bad sign that I find this cathartic?

Sometimes i like tp turn off the radio and just listened to the environment. Makes you realize the genuine horror it would be to live in such a reality.

I used to hate this DLC so much, but when i just experienced the ambience, and took my time to learn the story instead of rushing through dead money, I grew to love it quickly… I Never could let go of the Gold though.

I still remember on a high level character on a modded game this dlc was terrifying, managing to get 6 shots off with the police revolver and killing 1 ghost and getting its spears to try and fight back on top of managing your resources in survival makes it a true survival horror experience

Call it ptsd or conditioning, but I entered this DLC at level 13 with excitement to go into a casino. I then came out the Sierra Madre level 19 shooting at any radio I saw and beheading NPC's I already killed.

Mission log 34

Ah yes.
The famous Sierra Madre resort. Heard stories of it when I was a kid but never thought I would actually see it with my own eyes. A place that let's one move on from thair troubles, guard them from the dangers of the outside world. Filled to the brim with advanced technology one could even dream of. A place where you can "begin least that was the idea way back then. it still holds up to this day to some capacity. I can see why this old coot wanted to settle here.
His pip-boy signal went out several days ago. Guess this place claimed him just like all the others who tried to force the lock of that great, shining safe up on that mountain.
(sips nuka-cola)
Wonder what's up there maybe I could somehow get in and tha....no. Too dangerous for one person. Besides not even my plasma charge could melt through that door not to mention it was a stupid idea in the first made it out. Enough chatter. Now what was I doin- Oh! Right. Time to fix up my overcharged plasma rifle, gear up, scavenge as much technology as I can... will probobly take me a few runs luckily the rest of my squad are waiting outside the danger zone ready to drive it all back to base. Speaking of my sure if I'll be able to get back here with the cloud constantly moving about. Maybe.... hmm (mumbling)

BANG! BANG!

Damn! (draws a suppressed 9mm pistol) That scared looks like somebody's nerby. Better get out of here before this fool attracts more of if you can even call them that is this thing still on? Course it is. out.

Call me a masochist but I loved everything about this DLC. The gameplay, the narrative and characters, all of it. its peak for me. Especially with survival mode on. It opened me the world of survival horror games and I didnt even know I could like Silent Hill or Resident evil, for example. I prefer to play it after honest hearts and old world blues and before the lonesome road.

Played this for the first time a little bit ago, I streamed it to a few friends and I could not stop talking to myself because the ambiance of this dlc genuinely unnerved me. The distant radio music was haunting.

This would be hell. A dead city full of murderous ghost people & toxic gas, it's like the most extreme apocalypse Fallout can get.
I mean yeah, the Glowing Sea in FO4 is pretty bad, but you can easily leave that place & there're those crazy worshippers in the crater, but here, there's no one. Nothing. Everything that moves wants to kill you. This is a place of death.

I save this dlc for last cause of everything about it, the atmosphere, ambience, the story, and everything else with it, just hits different. The casino alone is beautiful too

I'm going through Dead Money right now for the first time and even though I'm only about half way through (I think) the actual Villa outside of the casino has one of the creepiest yet coolest vibes I've even felt in an open world game.

Begin Again on your Pip-Boy: “What a lovely song!”
Begin Again on Sierra Madre loudspeakers: “I want to go home…”

I can't wait to get here with the Fallout 4 capital wasteland mod.
I'm sure Nate knows about Dean Domino, Sinclair, and Vera, so I want to interment Vera and Sinclair by the casino.

Think we can all agree that while the gameplay of Dead Money can be rather annoying and tedious at times my god is it great when it comes to atmosphere and ambience

I enjoy doing my work with this playing in the background. Really soothing in a way, and always reminds me of the first time playing this dlc. A time where, I could only play after getting back home from school, around 6pm. Staying late until 11pm was really scary when I got to Dead Money.
