Thank you for this video! So take cuttings when they’re dormant, and what if the ground is still frozen? Where do you keep them if you can’t stick them into the cold but thawed ground?

Thanks for a proper video showing what to do. Elderberry is a useful plant. The black variety with pink flowers is especially pretty- sambucus nigra. It costs at least £10 for a plant, so do your own cuttings just before spring!

I live in the foot hills Oregon 900 ft elevation. What time year should I start elderberry cuttings? I do have a green house. What should the spacing be?  We live in a small town with extra lot, nice soil. Plant lot with elderberry??

even fresh green stalks work, at least pencil thickness, take from youngish tree so more vigour, one or two leaf pairs, place stem in water container in shade or moist compost in shade, occasional mist spray on leaves and should get roots 2 to 4 weeks.

nice video! I have some john and adams elderberry. This is my first season growing. Any reason my tallest, hardiest elderberry has no berries? It has a super shoot skyrocketing to the moon, but no berries. The shorter, bushier ones are doing best.
