i took a gap year and it was the BEST THING EVER. i had wanted to do interior design coming out of high school and then i took a gap year, went vegan during that time, and decided my two passions were environmental studies and theatre and that's what i'm doing now and couldn't be happier! not to mention i also traveled for a couple of months which was incredible and i worked and made money. literally a triple win. TAKE A GAP YEAR best year of my life!

i felt so silly transferring closer to home from my “dream” school after first semester freshman year but i’m so glad i did it and i’m glad someone else had a similar experience!! i don’t know how it was for you but i kinda felt like a failure for it but i feel a little bit better knowing thats something people experience as well

I think gap years are so important, especially if you’re not really sure what you want to do moving forward and you don’t feel super motivated. I went in as a food science major because I thought that was the best option in getting a job later on in life even though my passion was in literature and writing. I finished my freshman year in college at a huge school, while living at home and was not happy. I hated the school, I wasn’t making friends, I hated my major and I didn’t like feeling stuck in my hometown. So I took a gap year between my freshman and sophomore year and was able to figure out so much and really discover what I’m passionate about and what I wanted to study for the rest of my time in college. I ended up moving across the country to a smaller school and it was the perfect fit for me and I was so much happier. So gap years don’t always need to be right out of high school to beneficial either.
