Those Sennheiser HD 820 are my dream headphones I just got into audio a few months ago. Just picked up the Sennheiser GSp 600 those are gaming headphones and they are levels above any thing else. That sennheiser dac / amp is also on my list.

for the noise consider running 32-bit, 192kHz.... I found out it came from my USB port, but this amp is the only one that had issues because it is very sensitive

A very interesting review, especially in its separate treatment of the pre-amp and DAC functionality of this device. I was a bit confused when you mentioned Spotify as a digital source though (7:46). Did you really compare its DAC with the PS Audio DirectStream DAC quality using the 320 kbps source?

The DAC in the HDV820 is the weak point. I run a Chord Qutest as a separate DAC to the HDV820, all i can say its great synergy. Running HD800S and HD820

I just got this amp after seeing this and many other reviews. Sounds great! One question I have is do you use any special power cable or usb cable for the amp? Been considering buying some as my setup (hdv 820 + has 800) is pretty resolving and could benefit from higher quality cables.
