Gotta love this strat for the Devourer. The way you and it charge directly into eachother, weaving a repeating infinity symbol up into the sky... Calamity's bombastic sense of scale and style at its finest.

Finally, DoG but it isn't a "YeA iT nEeDs To OnE sHot YoU and HaVe 2 mIlLiOn Hp AnD 50 dEfEnCe On WeAkPoInTs". And it finally has interesting attacks that don't consist of first circling around you, then b-lining at you which is sometimes LITERALLY UNAVOIDABLE as the first few teeth do not have a parryable hitbox

i have over 700 attempts at this bos with absoloutely no improvement, i hit the head with maxed damage reforges, mythical weapons and i still do like no damage and then in its second phase its like the dash has no time to recharge before it dashes again, ive seen someone beat this mage but im not desecrating half my world for it and i dont think unless i do its litterally impossible

Although I think the fight is stunning and looks awesome, the single biggest flaw I can find that turns the whole fight from a 9/10 to a 5-4/10 at most is the fact that the ram attack *requires* the use of the Dash, you can’t avoid it besides having that accessory and hitting the timing perfect for the whole fight. That’s a massive problem because a Boss shouldn’t require a specific strategy to survive against it. That and the fact that he uses the ram attack way to often, which causes the fight to become monotonous.

my strat is as follows:
make a platform 300 - 400 long with a teleporter on each end
connect them and repetitively teleport and trap DoG in the middle as you build up adrenaline
when his 2nd phase kicks in, go apeshit mode and MELT him with the power pf adrenaline

I’m not having fun with this boss. His fight heavily relies on falling or ascending so his dashes are easy to ram into, but of course since you can’t fall or fly up forever, you get fucked.

Ik this is a skill issue but being able to beat most of the infernum bosses in a few tries to suddenly getting absolutely fucked by DoG is incredibly frustrating, makes me feel like I need endgame gear or an extra row of accessory slots
