Am I ever going to sail? No. Am I ever going to build anything like this? No. Am I a fan of watching Dan and Kika work so beautifully together? Yes! Am I eager to watch them sail Uma all over the world agin? Yes! You guys are the best! 🥰

The year old piece of plywood was the best "see, I told you so" I've ever seen on Youtube.

Dan, just a little friendly constructive criticism PSA about Table Saws. Push sticks please! One of the leading causes of loosing a Daditto to a table saw mishap is not using a push stick. Having worked in a cabinet shop for a number of years decades ago. It was one of the first safety practices drilled into you when using the table saw. Your year old science project would easily make a half dozen, very cool looking, double thickness push ticks. Granted your saw is maybe just a little 1 3/4 to 2 hp motor, but it could still in a blink of an eye grab the material and kick it out. With your hand on the material, and now between the blade and fence, you only have up as an escape route. A pusher will keep your hand above the fence, giving you more escape options, and you will be less likely in a reflexive reaction, try to take control of the material. Also... if your saw came with it, and I'm pretty sure it did, put the anti-kickback attachment on too. Oh, and lower that blade too! You do not need inches of blade above the material. Just over a tooth's height above the material is sufficient. Safety first my friend, and going home at the end of the day with all 10 Daditto's is the name of the game. Keep up the good work!

Great work guys ! *TIP:*
My fixed dodger has a raised edge at the back, on top. This edge prevents water from flowing off, even when sailing in rough weather, and also serves as a convenient handhold. The edge is approximately 4 to 5 cm high and 2 cm thick, seamlessly molded with the dodger's roof. My solar panels lay in front of the edge, and the edge is approximately the same height as my panels.

That was very nice of those 2 guys to help with the roof for the dodger. For a second there I was afraid that Kika was going to get blown away in that wind.

How about adding a fiddle on the aft top edge of the hard top that would stop water flow backwards and also provide for an improved hand hold in the cockpit?

Hay guys,

If you put an edge on the back end of the dogger running from port to starboard, water is blocked from running in to the cockpit. It will run off the sides.
Just a little tip.
Dodger is looking good. Have fun building.

Greetings from the Netherlands 👋🏼

You see, this is why I love watching your channel, you over engineer things so you know damn well it’s gonna last, and you test the methodology and make sure things do work as you expect them too.
Great work guys, won’t be too much longer till you back sailing on the big blue wobbly thing (blackadder quote for the letter C !!)

I just wanted to say thank you for putting your lives out there. Each video has a very special purpose and you both not only prove your expertise in boat sailing, and build and re-build skills and talents. But your relationship to one another shows union, and connection that I feel is the golden thread of everything you two manifest.I have watched from the beginning and the videos just keep becoming time capsules of permanent value, for everyone. So thank you again, Damn i should't have bought a couch!!!!

Idk why I found this episode so fascinating, but I decided to check YouTube b4 bed & saw this 7 hours after the upload. I turned off the movie I was watching to watch Dan & Kika perform more majik! Super cool guys! I liked the pace of this video in particular. I’m so jealous of you young people, but I really appreciate & respect what you’re doing 🤗

I was a bit unsure of how it would look with the hard dodger, fearing it would come out slightly "trawler"-like. I'm very impressed with the result! Plus it's exactly what you want for your boat, congrats!

Thx Dan for explaining the thought process and design of the dodger. I know you two have used yrs to think through this and the whole rebuild and now Uma really starts to look like the "Ultimate" ... good on you.

Dan, Ha!!! You pulling that marine ply wood out of the sea wall is classic Dan. No one else on YouTube could match that stunt. You're the Sherlock Holmes of the sea.👏👏👏
