While working in Glacier National Park over the summer at the Many Glacier Hotel, I witnessed this crazy occurrence. The Mama Moose had twins, and after several days of stalking them, the bear got the first baby. However, when he went for the second baby, this is what happened.

It's been just over a month since this happened, and as far as we can tell the baby moose is still safe and sound due to the Mama Moose's courage and constancy. Let's go, queen.

And yes, this is the original video and I have all rights.

Two important takeaways from this:
1) Bears are way faster than you think
2) Moose are way more dangerous than you think

If you ever see a bear running for its life, you better run, too.

If you've ever seen a moose in person, it's like a prehistoric encounter. Massive beasts.

The sound of the bear crashing into glass just out of view is like something straight outta _Looney Tunes, _ hilarious stuff. xD

The bear smashing into the building shattering glass was like a scene out of a cartoon.

I've backpacked in bear country, and most encounters were the sight of a bear's rear-end as it ran away. But my most nervous encounter was face to face with a moose on a narrow trail in a mountaintop in Maine. I literally had nowhere to go except into the thick bushes, and the moose walked by and completely ignored me. The size of these things is astounding.

The bear was attacking her baby. You can hear the baby moose crying when bear went in water. That’s a mother right there.

Validate.

Another amazing thing about these big animals, especially moose, is how quiet they can be in the bush, both in stillness and on the move. You’ve got to not hear it to believe it . . .

I laughed when the bear shouted, "Oh sh*t!" and crashed into something.

From someone who has lived in Alaska, we were always taught to fear the moose ( especially during the rut ) more than the bear.

Moose: hey Smokey, I’ll show you how to prevent forest fires!!!!

I’m always amazed at how speedy and agile a grizzly is. It’s a good example of why park rangers get so frustrated with the limited distance tourists usually maintain from them in places like Yellowstone.

Wow! Not what I expected. People aren't kidding when they say moose are crazy dangerous. Lesson learned. 😳

Its easy to think of a moose as a deer type animal until you've seen one in person. They are so much more massive than youd imagine them to be

I grew up in Alaska. I think people thought I was crazy for saying we were more afraid of moose than bears. Bears didn’t want to be seen. We’d see their tracks in the snow. My dog wasn’t afraid of bears, but moose. He had a serious phobia 😂 I knew one was in our yard when he’d start SCREAMING!! Cocoa would take off up the stairs to our deck and bolt into the house.

Had a moose and her baby live in our backyard in Livingston, Montana, many years ago for several weeks. Mama stepped over our 5' fence once in a while as if it were nothing. Beautiful animals. Made good "neighbors."

That's the shed where you pickup your tickets for the Grinnell Glacier boat shuttle! WOW! Incredible footage! We were there the week before you shot this! That's the small Lodge gift shop he smashed into. Thanks for sharing! AWESOME!
