Many of you have the E-M10 Mark I or II, maybe E-M5 I or II. I wanted to share my thoughts on upgrading. When it makes sense and when it doesn't.

Your support and donations greatly appreciated!

When you pulled out the Pentaz K10 you gave me an idea for a fun video for you to do. The Pentax is circa 2006 and it would be fun to do a side by side comparison to your newest Olympus just to see how camera's have advanced. For example laying on the ground to get a shot vs. just tilting the screen, HDR mode vs. NONE, touch screens vs NONE, and so many other features we take for granted now.

Loved using my Pentax SF1 for quite a few years. These days I am loving digital imaging, and all its benefits. Still have my Brownie Holiday Flash which I was using at about 10 years aged. Also have a Canon TLb and other cameras. I am impressed with Nikon DSLR for actual value -- latest is the cheapest - the D3500 is great for stills. I would say less points of focus and those tiny little dots to indicate the point of focus, is not the best however. May consider a Nikon Z50 some day. The MFT cameras are fun, light and quick shooters, especially on the street and actually all general photography. -Loren

Rob Just picked up something, when you showing those bird images. No critic but did you saw that bottle in the background in the, i think the crane image. Excellent image with the oly 75-300mm but just shows again the humankind side that is dumping in nature. Sorry just a observation. Keep going, enjoy your vlogging.

You keep mentioning that you plan on doing some astrophotography, but still haven't, especially for a tutorial or for a vlog. I think you live near a great place for astrophotography. You can find some interesting foreground to add to your star trails photos, where you used to do photo walks this winter. Take a friend with you for some company...your tripod and the 8mm f/1.8 and of course... Ellie and I bet you can get some great shots with the live composite feature. You will just need to find a composition, in which you don't get a lot of planes' trails in... destroying all the star trails, as I remember you live near an airbase.
That's a great idea about image stacking for moon shots. Never thought of that. I have shot the moon many times, but I always had to do significant editing to squeeze out significant detail. I hope image stacking will do the job.
Oh...when you started fiddling around with the em-10 II, showing the grip...with lens off...I could "see" dust particles setting on the sensor. Aren't you afraid of sensor dust? Tony Northrup has dust on all his mirrorless sensors.
You discussed fixing WB issues before and after shooting a picture. I have read a lot about it and I have watched lots of videos about how to fix it pre-, during and in the post-processing, but the most interesting video and method was by someone, who just put a white tissue paper on the lens... fully covering the lens and shooting exactly in the direction where the actual shoot was supposed to be and used that WB for the rest of the shots. The results were amazing.

Hi, I wasn't able to listen to all your live feed (my small kid didn't let me :D ), but I'm eventually thinking on upgrading from a E-M10 MkII to a E-M5 MkIII, especially to take advantage of the faster AF, Focus Stacking (would love to capture some nicer macros) and PDAF, especially because I have an old 4/3 12-60mm f2.8 and don't have the chance yet to upgrade to a 12-40 or 12-60 micro 43 equivalent (or to the Olympus 12-100mm f4 IS Pro)...but I'm having doubts, if I should upgrade the camera and then get the lens, or the other way around...or if it is really worth the change from the E-M10 to the E-M5...thanks in advance

Just invested in some 4/3's lenses awaiting my adapter. A 50-200 F2.8-3.5. with the 1.4 teleconverter. We will see how it works.

Hi Rob,
Happy New Year. I missed your live stream with Peter, Jimmy, Robin, ... I like to ask you one question about lens. I shoot with em5II especially sunset, landscape, Milky way and night photography. My passion and I am not expert or professional. I like to buy a pro lens zuiko for this kind of photography. Witch one I go to pick 17mm, 25mm, 45mm ... or zuiko 12-40mm pro?. Thanks.
