Today I discuss a statement made by Vegeta back in the Universe 6 arc of Dragon Ball Super and why I think it aged terribly.

I actually watched that episode today and when Vegeta said that, I had to pause and check because, spoilers, there were about a hundred episodes left lol. You still have a long way to go at that point, Vegeta!

I think Vegeta was talking about the power of the Sayian's in general. They're currently focusing on transformations which are either from Gods of Destruction or Angels

Actually it's in character for Vegeta underestimate other characters. It's just that it's rare for him to do it to himself.

He's always talking about "max power" and the impossibility of getting any stronger.... Then Goku says "to hell with that" and breaks down the wall, making Vegeta jealous because he wants it too.

Agreed that was out of character for Vegeta true or not he's never been the type to accept anything I mean he's still obsessing over surpassing Goku even though it's been years and he hasn't even shown a sign of giving up even admitting the concept of a limit is ridiculous this is the same guy that that kept fighting cell the Androids and despite the iconic beatdowns he got back up and continue to disrespect them and tried to fight them again even after hearing about his own impending death he was determined to change it current Vegeta and even passed Vegeta would be disgusted with this statement and would be embarrassed and disappointed does he could ever reach so low

You realize that this was when they began training for ultra instinct. Who's had been hammering autonomous move y into them for sometime. What was actually meant was they reached their peak, without some drastic change to their training method or skills. It's like a body builder hittinbgn a plateau. You can keep banging your head against the wall and stay pretty much that size or you could alter training methods and find something that works, or steroids (unlocking UI)

They’re almost hitting their peak and breaking their limit so the line ages just fine…

To be fair as far as their limits as Saiyans go they were at their peaks. Ego and Instinct are Their first transformations that aren't based on their Saiyan powers.

I mean if you think about it, they weren't wrong. While yes, in terms of overall methods of strength, they got stronger, but at least on Goku's part, that wasn't really training.
Kaioken was a gamble on if he could pull off a technique like that in ssb
And ultra instinct is less of a powerup than it frankly should be, as what it's doing is allowing the body to react on its own, making the milliseconds of reaction time boil down to almost nothing. It *shouldn't* make him stronger physically, but for some reason it does. And also it was, at least at first, sort of a reactionary transformation, not something he could willingly do.

Super Saiyan blue evolution is essentially super Saiyan second grade in god form, which, yes, Vegeta did on his own. But then we have ultra ego, which he clearly states, was a form he learned from the god of destruction, which means without training with Beerus specifically, he would not have learned this. You could argue that he still got stronger, but the point is while he says he "made it his own strength", it was only because he was taught this. So 1/4 transformations being pure training ability isn't too far off, vegeta

All of that just for him to get 1 shot by frieza and then probably going to do some combination of ui with ss exactly how ssb combines god ki with ss

I though they were referring to peak performance in base form.

He was talking physically. They can't get any stronger in their base form. That doesn't mean they can't still hone their martial skill and learn new techniques.

This is exactly why I think this series is so stupid. There is no upper limit to what power they can have it just keeps growing meaninglessly. It's just a screaming muscle contest. One punch man does it better

Vegeta said that... but at the time, clearly forgot he could, I don't know, TRY MIXING SSJ2 WITH GOD KI! Seriously, I am still mad that in the main anime, this was FULLY skipped over, and it upsets me.

I think the crater wanted to make this the end strongest in the Multiverse pretty good title poor Goku but he probably had a talk with his bosses to just keep going have another Super Saiyan 2 and 3 but with less impact

It's because goku doesn't like pushing himself he mixed a form and a technique and got a new form vegeta just wants strength
