Saw her and her husband ( Birds of Chicago) open for Jason Isbell in Calgary alberta. Angelic voice, played 4 or more instruments, could have listened for hours. Such a beautiful soul. ❤

Former Montrealer here. As a teenager, I hung out on the very block of NDG that Allison's Mom's family lived on. I knew both of her parents. I crossed paths with Allison when she was an infant, but never really met her. I knew nothing of her from 1980 to 2024, when I discovered some of her songs on social media. It's surreal to see what she's done with her life and career, especially in view of the abuse she suffered.

Her stepdad abused her from five years old, she was running from him . I think she said she was 15 or 16, high school.

French Canadian here, I am not familiar with this artist but it sounds like she's signing about the things that have fallen apart in Montreal because the city administration went completely overboard with the woke "sanctuary' stuff, sounds like 'percephone' is a women's shelter. I've not heard of it. Rue St Paul (St-Paul street) is sort of a rough part of town, a lot of prostitution and petty crime and gang stuff and general mayhem happening there.
