Samson is my favorite Bible story, because it shows how far our God will go to use the worst of us. Nothing is more comforting to me.

Samson is the Strongest man in the Bible, lifting more than has ever been recorded before or since.

No Samson movie correctly depicts the power God gave Samson, when he hit people they all went flying back instantly dead and broken, and God also protected him from harm when he gave him strength, think about it 1000 guys all around you with swords and spears and arrows of course they’d have gotten hits in but God protected Samson by making him invincible. Also the gate that Samson tore off was way bigger then they ever show and when he killed the lion what he really did was literally tear it to pieces with his bare hands, the pillars of the temple were a lot bigger too, they never show Samson’s true strength and that makes me angry!

When I read Judges, I always envisioned Samson like a bearded Superman. His feats, done by the Spirit of GOD are insane.

I so agree! I have always believed he looked normal. Perhaps even scrawny. If Samson were some massive muscular guy, he would receive the credit. It would be just like God for there to be nothing about Samson that would impress anyone. His strength came from the Lord alone. I am sure the Phillistines were in disbelief that such a unassuming person had so much strength. That’s God.

Not sure if this was mentioned in the video, but Samson probably wasn't muscular(I stress on that probably). I did not come up with this possibility, but how its described in the text, he might've looked like a completely normal person and given more reason as to why his enemies wondered the secret to his strength.

Samson was probably skinny and slight in stature. It was not apparent by his appearance that he was strong as Delilah asked him where was the source of his great strength. He probably did not look like Hulk Hogan physically. His power came from God.

been teaching through these passages at my church. You bring up excellent points my friend and very well explained. Samson had to be very durable as well. If you were given the strength right now to rip those gates up but nothing else chaged, then youd would rip your own skin off your hands not to mention bones.

I personally theorize that Samson was decently strong naturally because he was grinding in the mill in place of the oxen. Before his hair was cut, I believe he was supernaturally strong all the time as hed wake up and shake himself free of the new ropes.

Then there are those times when the spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him.

Samsom definatly proves God uses flawed people which I am very thankful for.

Even if Samson could have had muscles and might have been tall and strong, the kind of impossible feats he did could have only been done because the Spirit of the Lord was with Him.
