Παρά τις όποιες επιφυλάξεις υπήρξαν από διεθνής στρατιωτικούς και πολιτικούς αναλυτές, ότι η πλεύση των δύο Αμερικανικών πολεμικών πλοίων, του καταδρομικού Chancellorsville και του καταδρομικού Antietam, από τα στενά της Ταϊβάν, θα μπορούσαν να προκαλέσουν μεγάλη ένταση στην περιοχή, με τις Κινεζικές δυνάμεις που βρίσκονται ήδη εκεί, τελικά δεν δημιουργήθηκε κάποιο πρόβλημα και τα δύο Αμερικανικά πλοία, διέσχισαν το μήκους 110 μιλιών στενό, χωρίς να προκληθεί η παραμικρή ένταση, αλλά φυσικά, υπό το άγρυπνο βλέμμα των Κινέζων.
Η Αμερικανική διοίκηση, έδωσε μάλιστα στη δημοσιότητα και βίντεο από τη διέλευση του USS Chancellorsville, στο οποίο φαίνονται και μέλη του πληρώματος, να ατενίζουν την περιοχή.
Και αν και ήταν μία επιχείρηση ρουτίνας, κάποιες ενημερωτικές ιστοσελίδες αναφέρουν, ότι διέφερε ως προς το σύνολο των πλοίων, αφού συνήθως, ένα πλοίο, μόνο του, διασχίζει τα στενά.
Παρόλα αυτά, τώρα είχαμε δύο και μάλιστα σε πολύ μικρό χρονικό διάστημα από την επίσκεψη της προέδρου της Αμερικανικής Βουλής των Αντιπροσώπων, της Νάνσυ Πελόσι, που προκάλεσε τον εκνευρισμό της Κίνας, η οποία και ξεκίνησε στρατιωτικά γυμνάσια, γύρω από το νησί της Ταϊβάν.
Πάντως, τα Αμερικανικά πλοία, όπως προείχαμε δεν αντιμετώπισαν κανένα πρόβλημα και αυτό φαίνεται ξεκάθαρα και στο βίντεο του Αμερικανικού Πενταγώνου.

However, the US ships, as we said before, did not face any problems and this is clearly seen in the video of the US Pentagon.
