Memory throttling due to heat under load (gaming) certainly seems to be an oversight. The cons you pointed out are valid and for ~$1000 AUD, I think they need to address these. Thanks always Rob!

In my life time starting with IBM punch card, CP/M, DOS, Windows and Linux, never I imagined in the far future there would be a mini PC so cheap yet hundreds time more powerful than IBM mainframe in those days with a fraction of the cost.

Fair review, but now allowing any kind of second drive is going to be a big deal for many buyers, as most minis allow some form of second drive. I keep expecting that all the mini makers will have figured out by now that they have to provide some form of cooling for the 'underside' components, and many have. This feels like a Geekom design that just dropped the ball.

What’s the difference between the A8, AE8, and AX8? Is it just the case?

Hi, do you confirm there is a slot for a 2, 5 SSD with SATA port? I ask because A7 model (similar to AE7) doesn't have that, so maybe this is the only difference and upgrade.

So weird compared to AMD Ryzen™ 9 7945HX, the iGPU here is 3× faster but the CPU is 2× slower, for pretty much the same power consumption.
