Andy Taylor – “Take It Easy” (Atlantic) 1987

Written by Andy Taylor and Steve Jones. Produced by Roy Thomas Baker.

After very successful stints with both Duran Duran and Power Station, Andy opted for some solo projects in 1986. He co-wrote “Take It Easy” with Steve Jones, formerly of the Sex Pistols. The track was featured in the film, “American Anthem”. Andy and Steve also contributed two more tracks, “Wings Of Love” and “Angel Eyes”. The latter is the b-side of “Take It Easy”.

The single reached #24 in the US.

Roy Thomas Baker had previously worked with Queen, the Cars, Journey and Alice Cooper among many others, comprising an extensive career in the music business.

I followed this song on the Billboard Hot 100's in 1986, I can't believe it's been decades since I last heard it. Time is implacable but it doesn't affect good music. It just ages better.
