I took a physics 2 test yesterday, and there was something that seemed way to easy, and I thought about this video and you, I later looked at it and it turned it was too easy just like in your situation. So, if you didn't post that video I'd probably flunk that problem. So, thank you Andrew for showing the process of how you think and there is these kind of things and I'm not the only one experiencing trouble.

You can find a third orthogonal vector by the dot product, and orthogonalise say the b vector. This way you have an orthonormal basis, and you can easily find the rotation into that basis and from that into the ' basis.

Edit: not dot product, cross product. It's too early for this here. :D

I have a project using Hardware Description Language for a Digital Design course...and I'm gonna be spending most of my Thanksgiving figuring out how to implement a 4x4 matrix multiplication, transpose, and addition/scalar multiplication using this language. Wish me luck.

I wish my school offered that kind of math methods class! There's so much mysterious math I want to learn. I'm in an applied physics Ph.D. program, and I didn't realize how different it was from a regular physics Ph.D.

Hey andrew, I was just wondering that if you take only 3 classes per semester which I think pretty much less than the “number” of undergrad courses per semester, is it less stressful?
Well I know for sure that a grad course is way more tense than an undergrad one, but I mean do you find yourself more comfortable to spend more time to understand some specific concept deeply rather than jumping between seven subjects and get their HW done before the deadline and that kinda stuff?

Towards the end, could you use the fact that Q = Q^T to give you all the components except the bottom right one, then multiply by a or b to find it?
