Why test your FSH at home? So you can be empowered with more information earlier in your journey! Getting early insights empowers you with more options to make decisions early with your doctor about treatment or fertility preservation if needed. 👩‍⚕️

Think of high FSH as your body nudging your ovaries a bit more to do their job. As ovaries age, egg quality and quantity decrease. With ovarian aging, the ovaries produce less hormones which decreases the feedback loop to our brains. In response our pituitary gland released more FSH. With ovarian aging, the ovaries become more resistant to FSH stimulation.

Knowing about a potential low ovarian reserve can help you decide if you want to see a doctor sooner than recommended. Why’s that? An FSH test helps your doctor predict how well you may response to fertility treatment - more specifically, how your ovaries will responds to stimulation and how many eggs you might produce in an egg freezing or IVF cycle.

For reference, the general rule of thumb is that a woman under 35 years old who has been trying to get pregnant for a year, or a woman over 35 who has been trying for six months, should consult a doctor. 💙
