Great vid, thanks for sharing your honest opinions and tips. Our 12 month trip started 4 years ago! Still with no planned end date! We travel and work along the way and agree with all your tips especially the groceries, fuel & accommodation. We also like to follow the old rule K.I.S.S - keep it simple stupid 😆 Happy travels guys 👍🏻

Good, frank chat about the nuts and bolts of financing the trip. You have given hopeful travellers like me a much needed reality check. Kudos to you both for your openness.

Some really good tips, thanks. Buying "in season" food and "on special" items saves heaps too; it all adds up. I made an accounting form in Google Forms and did some changes to the spreadsheet to help with keeping track on spendings. Then I put this link to my home screen on the phone. All i do is open the "App" fill in the form and save, I can look at the spread sheed any time and keep a track on spending, it really makes a difference and so easy. Average spend for us is $1100 a month for everything (we don't drink, so there's a good saving). Thanks for sharing your stories and ideas.

Thanks Liz & Simon for another useful off grid vid… love your content.
Also, living in Victoria I use ECC frequently and they are so helpful and nice people… no surprise you support them.

Good video. Agree. Speaking as a Grey Nomad who travels 9 to 10 months per year the easiest way to blow your budget is all the incidental items such as more pub meals, more visits to the local bakery and entry fees which we would not normally spend while at home.

Hi Guys, Greetings from Canberra☺️. Great content! I think it is one of the best I’ve seen on this topic. We head off at the end of the year, so I’ve been researching videos that cover info that may help with preparation as well as when we are on the road. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Great work, great analysis, nicely detailed, and explained. Comments about return on capital expenditure, eg selling van/ vehicle was great.

Great video guys. Love your work. Just started following you both. We have a 2017 Wildtrak and a 19.6ft van that we just bought, so watching your past videos give us some great info. Might see you on the road one of these days.
