The most practical reason to skip Zhu is DPS characters early on require maximum investment. If you pulled Ellen or got a Standard 5 star DPS, your focus should be on one maximizing that first team. Even if you're max refreshing, building two teams to the fullest is a tall order this early. Spreading your resources too wide just to clear a few extra Shiyu Defense stages early is not worth it. You'll end up with 2 mid teams, and just a couple of pulls to show for it... 🤷

The only reason I'm skipping Zhu is that I lost my 50/50 to Nekomiya, so I might just wait for Jane Doe and run her with possibly Nekomiya or Grace for Anomaly teams. I'm kinda salty since I got the Ether 5 star Bangboo early and I'm missing Zhu.

In my opinion skipping 1.0 characters is great and just keep on saving those pulls cuz they'll be the first characters to get a rerun anyway so if they're still relevant by that time then you should probably pull for them and sometimes Mindscapes can be valuable too. Trust me I'm a HSR player I truly regret not saving for Acheron & Firefly when they were released cuz all their Eidolons are Valuable.

IMHO it's all based on where you want to take your account.

In my F2P case I understand the long term value she'll have because literally she and Nicole are the only ether units and I did the same thing with seele where I wanted mono quantum.

Also for my second team, it was already made for me since I kept getting Anton on standard, got grace, kept pulling to get M6 Anton for electric team XD

Since its beginning you can easily get 1.0-1.1 characters

But then you wont get chance to summon for 1.2 and have to skip it
