I think this is the kind of sound The Shaggs are in their heads when they're creating their it.

The chord structure is out of this world.

It's missing the rhythm change after "You can never please anybody in this world" The change in energy is what made that song.

I really like this interpretation of the original. It works oddly good in this context. Can excuse you accidentally playing it in tune and in tempo.

This is the version I have been looking for...

OK, i never imagined that STVZ would make me a bigger fan of the Shaggs, and that the Shaggs actually made me a fan of STVZ. Digging out the really fine tunes, that are buried on Philosophy of the world, must have taken many many attempts. Persistence prevails

This song is truly mind-freeing. Punk Zen.

If The Strokes did a cover of this, it would be amazing.

I love this song, and hearing this interpretation is so splendid. You did them justice!

I love how you guys managed to (heavily) polish the original into something legitimately tuneful and melodic. Great stuff

The Shaggs charged their songs with such a concentrated childish joy of creativity, creation, that this charge does not age and radiates from these songs. And it awakens in adults children's joy and happiness from contact with creativity. In adults, children's joys awaken from creating for the first time something of their own, their own.

I, as a person who had a similar musical experience in my youth, understand HOW this album turned out so ... (well, you understand how)), "technically".
One girl knew how to compose a melody and a text, and correctly imagined the form of a song. And other girls who did not know how to do this were "attached" (attached) to her as a group. "Assist" to play along. And they did it the best they could. And the main form of the song "overgrown" with such a nice, free, walk of drums and guitars on the song, like on a lawn.

I like this much better than people trying to recreate the mess. Like, there is a good song in there, you just have to excavate it. I'd like to hear a less jazzy version though.

I thought this song was impossible to cover!! How'd you do it?

Anybody else hear The Shaggs for the first time, squint-listen, and then search for covers to see if anybody could make the songs work?
