Oh, so that's what that is. I've always wondered what those were made from. Guess it makes sense. If you do the same with a 45. Its almost the same sound. But a bit of a higher pitch, because its smaller. I've had copies of Walk Dont Run and Telstar by The Ventures that were pressed on it. I always thought maybe it was a one off type test press or acetate. Since then acetate discs also dont bend. But I'm glad to know now what is up with these albums. Guessing it got phased out in the 60s at some point for full albums. Also, I wonder how the material stacks up against the rest. Kinda like colored vinyl. Styrene copies of the 45s I've seen are usually redish or greenish when you hold them up to a light.

I find tapping the edge on a table top produces a ringing sound with a styrene disc.

also Styrene if you put a phone flashlight at the back of it. It will semi translucent dark red/purplish
