He’s correct, individuality isn’t a high priority in Korea

He's damn right
In Korea, almost no one strives for individuality, it's their culture of not standing out and sticking to the standard. In Europe, everyone wants to emphasize their individuality, but in Korea, it's the opposite, they don't want to stand out from society

Wow that was actually a pretty much needed message tho, esp the part where he said "everyone is created in their own different ways and they should hone in on that more" like, for me, it's like don't try too hard to fit in the korean beauty standards, instead of trying to look like someone you're not, focus on YOUR OWN BEAUTY, and highlight that beauty even more by expressing YOUR OWN STYLE 💖

He actually said something really valuable. Most koreans follow beauty standards and hence they end up basically looking the same. What this guy is saying is they should be who they want to be instead of simply following others. That was good.

He wasn't racist just honest. Korea is a homogeneous society. If u try to break the norm, you'll be looked down upon, hence why everyone is a copy of each other

True. When I look at the Kdrama Actors I’m like. Isn’t there another hairstyle these people can do? Fr

It’s true. My sister and I have trouble recognizing our favorite kdrama women because they look alike. We’re Americans and we find the “beauty standard” sad. If you look at British actors, they are more authentic in their looks. Some even have crooked teeth. Makes them more human. But. My sister and I are totally hooked on kdrama and the actors

This interviewer fits the korean stereotype that thinks korea does everything perfectly.

It's true what he said. When there is a trend in SK, everyone follows the trend. I noticed that everyone was wearing same clothes, same shoes, same haircuts...

He's right, the society expects people to conform to the norm and kr people just follow trends after trends for anything. Even the idol industry

The truth hurts, but it's the truth. Individuality should be achieved. 💯

He's not being racist against his own race, he's talking about the fact that koreans have 0 individuality. Because of the pressure of beauty standards everyone gets the same surgeries, dresses the same way, gets the same haircut because the people who dare to be "different" are looked down upon more than loved. Ngl it's kinda like North Korea except South Koreans WANT to be like that (same hairstyle, fashion...), they don't get pressured by a law.
