Legacy databases are a pain to work with. Digital Extremes has players with removed items still in their inventories. This is absolutely the right call. Helps them build a stronger database for the new game too

Perfectly reasonable thing to do tbh, they dont want their customers to suddenly have their purchases gone.

You could really see how upset Jon was when he announced the delay, they really care about their community and want the best for them. They've earnt the respect of the players and I don't mind waiting at all because I trust they'll only release PoE 2 when its done and ready.

I saw some people complaining about this on the community post, and I just couldn't wrap my head around why. Why complain? Yes, it's 3 weeks delay, yes it sucks balls. But we know. We knew fairly well in advance. We know exactly what the problem was, and how long it's estimated to fix. We have all the pieces, the instruction booklet is complete. We have all the information.

I just hope the people requesting PTO can get it changed.

Warframe going cross platform had a similar issue.
Account merging a PC account with 2k hours and a PS4 account with 700, without deleting or overwriting an item or rare drop must have been a nightmare to code.

GGG learned from all the AAA titles that had poor launches that destroyed the game’s credibility and the reputation of the studio. GGG delayed a league back when Cyberpunk was due to launch. The whole GGG studio was also super excited for Cyberpunk as well since it’s nothing but people with passion for gaming there. Hell they require 1k hours of PoE played as part of the needed experience to get hired into the studio.

Past few days i have been watching interviews like my life depends on it, and you can so clearly see the passion the devs have put into poe2, this is 100% a game made for gamers BY gamers. Or as Johnathan said himself " i wont stop developing games until i have made a game that i love all aspects of"
