Enkhuizen is een verrassing voor mij een precies wat ik graag zie. Oude gezellige steden met een oude kern. Enkhuizen ken ik wel van naam maar ben er nog nooit geweest. Toevallig ga ik over 1 week naar het Zuiderzee museum in Enkhuizen. Dan kan ik jouw tour nadoen.

Ik zat er ooit op school, van 1980 - 1984. Wel een hoop vergane glorie. Bijna alle oude historische winkeltjes zijn verdwenen. Wel zit De Wit er nog (Electronicazaak) met de blauwe luifeltjes op 15:43 Maar de oude modelbouw en speelgoedzaak van Wouter Ruijter is al jaren weg, die later is verbouwd en nog een Apotheek is geweest maar nu weer leeg staat (Links op 16:12) Ook de over de Linden Winkelpassage is verdwenen. Waar ooit de ingang was is nu een leegstaande winkel (16:42) Wel heel mooi gefilmd en in hoge resolutie, prachtig om te zien en even kreg ik weer flasbacks uit mijn oude brugklas tijd in 1980.

Enkhuizen was the herring town. The herring fishery was much bigger than the VOC at any point in history anyway. Just like all 17th century prosperity, it's mostly Baltic Sea trade. Wheat, wood, beer, boring stuff like that, but week in week out and not a year per journey.
