Traeger Pro Series 22
The smaller size fits well on your deck or patio. Quickly enjoy short-term smokes (burgers, hot dogs, chicken breasts, meatloaf, and many more). My favorite is the reverse seared steak - ribeye or sirloin smoked in under an hour, then seared on a cast iron skillet in clarified butter or oil for two minutes per side ( it’s the best steak I’ve ever made). This model is affordable because it’s smaller and doesn’t have wireless temperature features which is no problem, you can buy wireless sensors and thermometers online that work very well. The cooking range is 180 to 375 degrees - ample for smoking. Its cooking area of 572 square inches has been ample for my smoking needs, sometimes serving several people. When you purchase, be sure to get a good cover as the control panel and electrical instrumentation should not remain exposed to outside weather. The pellets are heated using electricity, so you’ll need to place this near an outlet. My smoker is 50 feet away from my house, but no worries because I use a 50-foot, high-gage, appliance extension cord. I recommend buying drip pot liners. Get good quality aluminum foil to cover your drip pan, or buy drip pan covers online. The Traeger is a marvelous invention. Brilliant in design, and most of all – FUN to use.

Bought our Pro 22 in April 2024, came with one probe. Third use it threw the low temperature error. Had to take the 20 or 30lb meat back off, remove the grill, the grate below it, and the cover and vacuum out the pellet pot. Was almost full of pellet dust. Appears this smoker is going to need alot of regular maintenance. Wife was in a hurry. Prepped the meat and threw it on and got the error. She was already late for work so she left it with the error code. Hoping cleaning it out fixed the issue. Crossing fingers. Thanks for the video.

For a guy who could be Wolfman Jack's offspring, I would have expected Medium Rare for that nice NY Strip. I'd go w/ a much colder Smoke, around 160-170 degrees F and brought the internal temp to around 110 before doing the Reverse Sear. That and go w/ a Much hotter sear temp. You'd get a juicier, more tender Strip Steak.

I have the same but no probes on mine. It’s become a tradition on the holidays for me to smoke a Turkey on the Traeger. I’ll never cook a Turkey any other way.

Had a Target for years lasted about 20 years
Went out I could Not afford another after stroke Donn another cheaper one when disrability comes in I will go back to traeger
