I have loved The Everly Bothers since I was a teenager in the 60’s. I finally got to meet them in 1988, and I had a long conversation with Phil at that time. He autographed one of my albums, asking “Where did you get this?” He seemed astounded when I told him I had been their fan since I was a young girl, and I had purchased the album with babysitting money.

I always thought Let It Be Me would be a beautiful wedding song, as would Devoted to You.

June 28 of this year will be 40 years ago that my beautiful bride danced on our wedding night to this beautiful love ballad.


In three months from now, Lord willing, we will dance to your beautiful rendition to celebrate 40 wonderful years together!

It is a soulful, plaintive plea from two loving hearts to each other to, please, always, let it be me.
