Jason, yes your take is accurate....stirring the racial pot big time. I live in the Columbus area, I'm a contractor and have never heard of this guy or his company so I looked him up. DaMichael goes by "Mikey", he buys junk houses in the hood and flips them, often with a government minority program. 800k-1m is no where near the "most expensive" neighborhood in Central Ohio....oh, this Mikey has a website selling people his program how to become rich. I think there could be a scheme by both couples to promote themselves.
