Replacement Bulb for Hood Vent - GU10 Base

There is a variety of light bulbs for hood vents. One of the popular bulbs has a GU10 base. This is a dual pin twist style. The pins push up into the socket and then twist to lock in place.

Out of pure frustration and after removing panels in efforts to gain access to bulb socket from inside (to no I finally succumbed to YouTube instructional & found your explanation..
Geeze.... I feel dumb.
After literally 5 seconds, you're right.... the bulb just twists out.

Had to remove the socket and put the bulb in and out several times, put the socket back in, and NOW I can gently turn the bulb to look it in place.
Sure do like the old fashioned screw in bulbs... this thing better last 22.8 years as advertised. Of course, I would be 78 when I need the 2nd bulb in this pack, and 100 when I need the 3rd so I guess I’ll update my will.

It recedes into the hood. There is nothing to grip in order to twist. ?

Thanks, it works. Before viewing the video I was pushing up too hard before twisting then not pushing up hard enough while twisting.

Wow, you make it look so easy. I have a suction cup and still can't install it. How hard are you pushing up? I'm putting a fair amount of pressure and can't get it to lock in. Any thoughts appreciated - thanks ☺

had issues getting it replaced but succeeded after a couple minutes.. now the switch seems bad as its not turning the lights off.

Since there are so many YouTube videos explaining how to change these types of bulbs tells me that it’s a poor design. Stick to incandescent bulbs if you can.

Trust me, just unscrew the panel...it's a million times easier if you unscrew the panel
