LAST CALL 💥 for our $1/day sale! Lock in this rate and live free from pain 📣 link in bio for more info!

“Babe, can you rub my shoulders!?” 😝

How many of you can relate to the statement above? And/or how many of you have a needy af partner that asks you for shoulder and neck rubs every night? 🫠

If that’s you or someone you know (tag em’)… then this levator scapulae massage is exactly what you’ve been looking for. 🙌

The levator attaches to the top of the shoulder blade and moves upwards and inwards to attach to the vertebrae of the neck. This muscle elevates the blade and helps with rotation; therefore, because we use it every day, it is often a trigger point for many individuals. 😪

If you find yourself asking bae for this massage every night then it is likely that you live your life daily with imbalances of your shoulder blade muscles (which we can teach you to align in our Shoulder program - link in bio). However, this massage should provide great, short-term relief! 😁

If you want to learn how to do this massage then turn on the sound and read the in-video caption!

I guess I'll need to sprout two extra arms with hands. 😔

Really good to warm the area up first with some gentle kneading and circular frictions to avoid further injury before going in hard.

This is one of the issues my fiancé is going through and it’s almost numb per his words. For the past two days I’ve been giving him massages (I’m not a massage therapist but he says I should!), and he’s felt much, much better! He is a forklift supervisor so his body is taking a toll however, he felt no pain the past few shifts he’s worked! Will have to send this video and apply the method and maybe consider a career change! I learn so much from similar videos I should seriously just do it! Thank you for this and keep them coming!

Oh, my God, the levator scapula is literally my arch-nemesis. It is the cause of headaches! Not all of us have somebody who's willing to dig their hand in there and go for it.😢 we need it!

Good to know this is the tightest muscle and I'm not just uniquely stiff. Watching this feels so good. I need this muscle massaged.

As a professional therapist of 20 years I’d exercise caution over doing this .. heat is paramount or at least loosen up the muscles with small kneading & light knuckling .
A very tricky trick to do what’s in vid if not prepared properly.
It could lead to injury or frozen shoulder .
My clients included high profile celebs including premier football players I worked on regularly.

Also if the person often has headaches you should massage away from the head or at least end with a few strokes downward. Warm up the area first with kneading etc. because if not its just a bit brutal and more painful

2 BIG MISTAKES! Please read:
Never massage from the shoulder to the head! ALWAYS aim to the heart! It's an Important rule.
You must massage from the Atlas (the neck) to the Angelus superior Scapulae (the point he starts). From up the head, down to point he starts.
The reason is, that you press a lot amount of blood into the head, when you do it like he Shows it. Every time.
With that, you causes a lot of Bad Things to follow, like dizziness and nausea (sickness). And that in a few minutes

2. Mistake:
Do not do this, while sitting!
The muscle is under pressure. It works, when the Patient sit like this. This is a absolut no go! The muscle must be relaxed.
So please lay the head down.

Please do it the right way. I'm a medical Masseur (working in Hospital)
Englisch is not my mother tongue. But i hope, u understand.

Edit:
To all the people, who say, that i'm wrong or that they are fine with this way of therapy seen in this video:

I must admit, that i donno the education in the US or other countrys.
But where i am from, u have to study that 2 years. And do your examina in this (Medical Masseur).
You have to learn Anatomie and Physology to understand, how a muscle works and what chemical and neuro activities are done in your body, to make that happened.
You learn A LOT of Important Things, that a Patient never knows of. Also Biochemie. And a lot of other stuff.

So when i tell you, that u press a lot of blood into the brain, is it a really, really short and simple way to explain what is going on.

This technique here is wrong in more than the 2 ways, i claimed. There are way more mistakes maken. I just wanted to Show These 2 BIG mistakes
This is absolutly No-Go. It is mayhem in my country. A physical demage caused by incompetent therapist
This is 1st Semester Knowledge and he failed it

Normally, you should just warm up the muscle for a few minutes by massage. Than, dements on what we found, there are diffent ways to therapy that correct:
For example, you can use the P.I.R. the
* Post Isometric Relaxion ...or
* Are there triggerpoints? If yes, is that the way ... or
* you use exercises to strenghten the muscle, cuz it is too weak
* Pose correction, if the Patient needs it
And so on

People watching this and think "oh cool, that helps me"
But what they dort know, is, that the therapist need to know, where is that problem coming from.
What therapy is the best, individuell...

Sorry, that Video is absolut incompetent

It’s where I always get knots/carry my tension(both physically and stress induced or emotional). I usually get a GIANT knot and cry, beg for my man’s elbow in there bc the burning tension and pain makes me want to vomit. Usually when it’s that bad, I’m holding me breath too. Often it happens around me getting a migraine as well. Things that have helped:healthy diet, regular exercise and lifting, yoga(lots of it all types and lengths), a roller for my back, breathwork and meditation to mitigate my stress ☺️

I get remedial massage once a month and can never leave without this pain gone. I got my missus to do this for me last night for 5 minutes and I woke up feeling so good in my traps and neck. Omg!!

I had sore/tight muscles in thar area for months and months, I was in so much pain, everyone and their grandma told me that I need it a good muscle rubbing, as in the video, and I did, lots of times, however it was so excruciating and the pain wouldn’t go away at all, then people told me that it was stress, well I live a pretty peaceful life, so I started stressing trying to figure out what was causing this amount of stress in my life, in order for my body to react like this, almost 8 months into it, I had enough, I went to Mexico I had a full evaluation with an MRI and x rays, and well it turned out to be 3 dehydrated discs in my upper spine, along with the pre existing polyosteoarthritis condition I had.

I started treating it differently, for it had nothing to do with muscle tension, however the pain is almost identical.
So be careful out there. It can be something deeper.

This is the video I’ve been looking for. I’ve had tension headaches since I was 10 and I’m 38 now. Kind of been doing this in a goofy way but now I have some clarity

Structural Bodywork Prac here- great content. Love your work! And when there's no one to do this for you aka SOLO RELEASE - it's possible just less effective but better than nothing - by reaching around front with L hand. Rest R arm on a table. Go down the muscle instead of up - with fingertips or thumb if u r bendy. Start with head looking left and up and slowly chin down as you slide (or rub in circles) down to the top of the shoulder blade. Repeat ❤.
