Electronic live can have many forms that are exciting. Triggering preprogrammed parts while always tweaking some knobs without any musically noticable effect (except filters and crossfades) is... not okay for KCRW.

I love electronic music to death....always have, ever since the day I was turned on to Tangerine Dream's PHAEDRA back in the summer of '74. And no doubt, this is cool EDM....but a "performance"? Seriously? This reminds me of the same "performance" I saw by Shpongle and OTT a few years ago up in LA: GREAT music, but all it amounted to was a couple of guys dancing in place in front of their computers. At least when I saw Kraftwerk on the AUTOBAHN tour back in '75, they PERFORMED--Ralf & Florian PLAYED their synthesizers, and Wolfgang and Karl PLAYED their electronic percussion. Is this the future of electronic music "performance'? Is this where we're truly headed? I'm not saying that it's the end of the world as we know it, but this disturbs me profoundly. Whatever happened to musicianship?--has that gone the way of the dodo?

Surprised how much negativity they are getting. I can agree that the drummer element is missed here. But have some sympathy, they are trying to find a stable sustainable way playing.  This was a short tour so maybe the are just trying to figure out the best way to upgrade their live set...
