#lightwave #ZR0 Cylq
I've been looking for a lightweight bike and backpacking tent for some time but didn't want to spend a fortune when I stumbled across a Lightwave ZR0 Cylq solo tent for sale. Having bought it and spent my first night in it is Lightwave a safe choice and is this 18 year old model a good or bad second hand choice?

Here's links to some of the gear I use in my videos:

i just bought 2 tents after having never owned any!
one is cheapo, large, you can stand up in it, for glamping, with the family, in summer weather
the other is more expensive lightweight 1 person tent for bikepacking
there is something magical about tents for me x

Lightwave is owned by a fellow New Zealander! I did not know that. I knew he was Crux packs - which are I think are well-regarded. Best wishes from Jacinda and the rest of use here in Aotearoa!

Your finger and thumb adjustable pegging point overlay was legendary precision Andrew. Tent is like the nordisk Svalbard.

That's a wee belter of a tent Andy. Absolutely love Lightwave. Have the T10 and tunnel tents they are exceptionally strong.

I always enjoy your tent reviews, it’s good to see a Lightwave. In my opinion if Lightwave were to up their marketing a bit they could raise their profile. I think their website lets them down, it feels dated and it isn’t anything like as slick as some other small manufacturers. Also they don’t have many videos on YouTube, they could maybe send a couple of tents out to reviewers like yourself to try out. I was seriously tempted by one of their Sigma tents but other than yourself their isn’t much by way of reviews for them.

It's pronounced Zero!
I have one of these bought it when they first came out....a well made..if low mountain tent.
The vestibule can be made larger by removing the front peg, once up and pulling the inner back.
Thanks for featuring 👌👍
Cheers Alistair

I had a Lightwave F2 Ultra many years ago. At the time it was the world's lightest ever fully geodesic tent. Possibly my favourite ever tent. Absolutely bomb proof yet weighed just 2.5 kg. No idea why no one has re-invented it to rival the Hilleberg Soulo. I think manufacturers wrongly think there is no place for a minimalist fully geodesic made with ultra light materials but I think there is. At the moment there is a market missing between £300-£400 tents and the Soulo. Someone could make a lot of money hitting that spot between imo.

Hello again, i have now bought the tent but haven't used it yet, and have only just found out how low the water column is. Is the tent waterproof?

The tent looks cramped, is there room for a backpack somewhere? Because if it touches the tent wall and it rains, will it rain through or?
