MAKING AN ACTUAL PENNY BOARD

I see a lot of people riding around "penny boards", so I thought it would be cool to make a board out of pennies :D

Add a thin layer of resin at the bottom, then a bunch of pennies, then a layer of fiberglass weave, some more pennies and top up with resin. Now you've made a far more durable board, that's still almost entirely see through, and loaded with pennies.

sweet idea! a couple suggestions for version 2.0 (if you decide to try again):

* Pour a thin layer of the resin before adding the penny layer, and keep the penny layer only a couple thick.

* Reinforce the board with multiple layers of carbon fiber (or fiberglass) on the bottom side, if you want you could hide this layer with a secon layer of pennies on the bottom if it isn't too heavy.

Awesome experiment! A few things might've helped you out though, you would want to use more epoxy, start with a layer of epoxy, let it have a tiny bit of set time, then start dispersing pennies. Layer of epoxy, pennies, layer, ect ect. You probably want a little thicker than a normal board just because you're only using epoxy for support. The pennies actually weaken the board because they provide no lengthwise support to the epoxy board. You might try getting fancy by about the second layer in, trying to inlay metal bars about an inch or two in from the edge, maybe a little more, but it would disrupt the visual of just pennies and epoxy.
