great to hear behind the scenes stuff. Andy have you ever mic'd an amp with an Active Ribbon mic? To try and capture room sound

You're right Andy. Great first video. Can't wait to see more content! Big fan of in the blues and, like so many people, those pgs demo's have cost me a lot of money lol.

Andy, with new people doing videos, do you think it wise they do the videos then share them around to friends who's opinion they trust and tweak the format & techniques around until folks start saying everything is good? Rather than putting up a You Tube video that would be inferior & a later embarrassment...

The old Johnson Millennium amps had a tube front end. They sound great! Just ask Adrian Belew! ☺

Tinnitus? I have that roaring away in my ears full time. I am pretty sure it is in the pitch of D, because it seems to work like a drone note when practicing modes etc with D as the root.

Not having the cops called on you? People can be selective about the things they complain about. I can have the English football streaming loud or a movie etc and nobody seems to mind. But if I have the guitar going at the same volume the apartment neighbors start knocking on my walls and ceiling, or even calling the building manager on me. Some noises they tolerate, but not rock guitar and the backing tracks I use. They always get a 120 decibel 'fv<k off' from me when they start knocking on the walls etc. Apartments are very convenient, but they suck for guitar playing. I dream of having a huge barn in the country with Marshall stacks at one end of it and banging out AC/DC chords for hours.

Trinity Session by Cowboy Junkies is a great example of a recording made with room mics. An epic album filled with atmosphere.
