I used to supervise breakfast at a hotel restaurant. I came in one morning to brew coffee and there's a guest in the kitchen (we don't lock it up, but you can't mistake it for something else...it's a goddam kitchen). This guest has been staying for a few days, and he legit tries to act like my boss. "The coffee is empty, where were you at 5am this morning?" "Sleeping" I responded. "Okay well there's a line of guests who need their caffeine" When I asked him who he was, he told me he's the GM. I raised my voice and told him to get tf out of my kitchen. I've never seen an old man scared so shitless before.

This is exactly how I feel during most spy shows where they try to infiltrate staff for like an hour and always feels so unrealistic especially when it’s like behind the scenes for a stage performance. It’s so noticeable when you’re not part of a system people are used to.

My first time having to fire someone she cried and then she showed up the next day like nothing happened. Clocked in and started working. The system hadn’t gotten rid of her yet because it was less than 24 hrs of her being fired. Very awkward conversation.

Volunteered for a theater and people from previous plays would go back stage. Audience members would also get on stage after the show or stick around to chat.
I became the unofficial bouncer and got called over to take care of them. Which is funny, because I'm a scrawny thing with no intimidation. But I'm polite, stubborn, and innocently confused looking. Been told by family that being mean to me feels like accidentally stepping on a dogs tail. So I guess that works.

Hilarious telling people in not just a techie, but the bouncer too.

Lol. This reminds me of when I was working as a cashier at Shoe Station. And we were to give our fellow employees discounts. But I only worked certain shifts to start out with, like weekend nights so I didn’t know who all worked weekday mornings or whenever. So we were usually supposed to call managers before giving an employee discount but they were usually busy and just told us to go ahead and do it most of the time. Well one time a customer came in asking for an employee discount and I almost gave it to him until his wife said, “ stop lying to the poor girl.” He was like, “ well I wasn’t going to, but I wanted to see if she could tell if I worked here or not.” 🤣 They laughed it off and it actually was a pretty funny exchange.

I’m not joking this literally happened to me when I was the head bartender at a night club. Some girl showed up in a uniform behind the back bar and claimed she’d been there for years and I was like “I literally hire and fire all bartenders for the past 3 years and make the sched” and she literally had NCNS 4 years before and said that she was just someone that was allowed to come to work a shift when she needed money and my GM had me call the cops and then 2 weeks later hired her without telling me and brings her in like “after all that I figured we could use the help anyways” working at a bar is crazy sometimes
