Canon’s NEW 100mm RF Macro Lens: More than we asked for?

100MM Macro RF :

You all know how much I love a good 100mm macro lens, in fact I think it’s my favourite lens. I’m so excited that Canon will finally be releasing their RF version soon and today I get to test it out. Honestly, Canon just needed to retain the capability from the latest EF version and create an RF version but they actually went ahead and made the lens even better. In this video we have a little fun as I test this new macro lens by taking some detailed shots of subjects around the office with the new Canon RF100mm 2.8 L Macro IS USM. Remember Macro lenses aren’t just limited to delivering close detail shots, however with this lens you do get a new minimum focus distance of 0.86ft and 1.4x magnification. Fun fact, I think I have used a 100mm macro lens for more portrait shots than any other lens, it is just such a great lens to shoot with. Finally, we have a look at the new Spherical Aberration (SA) control ring and I show you some examples of how this feature allows you to better shape the foreground and background bokeh. Let’s get into it!

just last year around this time I purchased my first L lens (RF15-35) to go along with the R for my youtube.
I remember watching Pete's old vlog with Dennis making pizza. - One of my favorite vlogs on this channel. I have always wanted a 100mm macro.
I think later this year I will pick up my second L lens to go along with my wide lens.

Most people use the macro lens for non portrait photos but for me the 100mm RF macro lens is PHENOMENAL for portraits 😩 it’s my go to lens for beauty work!
