Almost all materials are subjected to loads when they are in service. The load may be tensile, compressive or shear in nature. All these loads result in the deformation of the material. The deformation can either be the change in shape or size of the material. Based on the magnitude of the load applied, the deformation can either be temporary or permanent. The permanent deformation of the material is called Plastic Deformation.

Plastic deformation is driven by the change in the internal structure of the material and this deformation will eventually end up in the failure of the material. Therefore, it becomes mandatory to understand the phenomenon of plastic deformation in materials.

This video is about Plastic deformation Mechanism in crystals. We will discuss what plastic deformation is, why it is so important to learn about them and how it affects the crystal structure. We will also discuss the different types of Plastic Deformations including Slip deformation and Twinning deformation.

First time get the deep knowledge about deformation. You just nutshelled the 1.5 page boring reading in an interesting short video and make it understanding easily. These type of smart classes is needed in India.
