This is one of the most incredible scenes in all of cinema. Stunning. When an actor and the part become indivisible.

A beautiful scene, brought tears to my eyes, and does so every-time I watch.

That final line: “But God, in his infinite wisdom, has made sure, it is just enough for us” is so perfectly, beautifully wonderful.

Find your peace through your belief system, and live your life through it. You’ll find yourself happy till the day you depart. Blessings to all always

The late great John Hurt, his words of wisdom are one of the best parts of the film.

The fact that this was one of John Hurt's last performances makes it even more powerful and the weight behind his lines in all his scenes in this film make for a well and true swan song.

What a great last role for John Hurt, glad he left on a high note.

this quote by the priest was so powerful and true that it stuck with me the first time i heard it. the score by mica levi was spectacular. its simplicity and haunting nature almost feels supernatural, it really captures the emotion of the film extremely well, particularly this scene.

I saw this movie only a few days after John Hurt passed, and when it got to this scene I just started bawling. Hearing his soft but raspy voice try to comfort Jackie in this scene just completely overwhelmed me. He was one of my favorite actors, and I I won't hear that voice in any more movies now.

It's still me, again, two years later. All these clips make me cry. This is a masterpiece. Truly.

I can't stop watching the film. Brilliant acting & of course the Oscar nominated musical score is to die for.

- "There comes a time in man's search for meaning when one realises that there are no answers. And when you come to that horrible, unavoidable realization, you accept it or you kill yourself. Or you simply stop searching".

This is the line and thought that I've embrace for my life. There should be no shame in admitting our limitations. We are just mortals left in this world to live it and enjoy it. We don't need to know everything, because, in the end, certainty is a mere dream. The thrill of life consist in allowing yourself to be surprised by it renouncing control over those things that we are not meant to do so.

To me, this words embody so much on what an actor can say in his last years of life. Rest now John, you had a long and great career, and you were chosen in a great movie to give such a wonderful monologue.

After just suffering grief this scene has become more painfully relevant.

the scene is so powerful. I'm in my 30s and everytime i have to deal with existential crisis, i watch this scene again and try to calm myself, go to sleep and wait for the next morning as he told me

Raising them kids all by herself must’ve been painful without Jack…Jackie you did nothing to deserve that pain.
