As an NSW Australia citizen and a great admirer of Indian railways and their Locomotives it is with sadness we ask why we never did the same here, Let's not get into ceasing Passenger carriage manufacturing

The WDM3D was developed by Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW), a Government Workshop on an Alco Body a Loco that is magic to watch at 130 Kmph

Congratulations to India let's hope they keep a few WDM3D for nostalgic tours and to be able to keep hearing the sound that only a two-stroke Alco can make

Nice video 🎉& explaination as well. But the real revolution in dieseal engine in India appeared when EMD came in India. The buzzing sound & turbo-charged 2 stroke WDP engine is undoutedly a game changer!!! Hands down!!! Some original UBL WDG are still working & fly-by of it makes us to think an aeroplane is coming!!!!

I have travelled and photographed twin WDM2 ( TKD depot) hauled Karnataka Exp in the 1980s. My favourite past time used to be to take my two young boys to the Bangalore city station to show the twins at the head of the train ready to depart or to a nearby location to look at the train passing through. It was the Janatha Rly Minister in the late 70s who introduced this WDM2 double heading to all Rajadhani Exp first ( only two of them, then) and then slowly to all long distance trains. I have seen them in GT Exp, AP Exp, Navjeevan exp etc, long before the routes were electrified. The running sound, especially while picking up speed, of these Alcos was mesmerising.

Mein indian railway se request karta hun ki in locomotive ko wapis le aao with biodiesel varient ke sath taki koi pollution na ho wese bhi biodiesel to eco-friendly fuel hai aur sath mein locomotive ke cabin mein ac fit kar dena chahiye taki loco pilots ko koi pareshani na ho.
