I used to live in Roman Road when I was a student in the University of Essex. That was 50 years ago.

In the long run we gained our city status back.. Colchester was a city in roman times and was only reduced to a town status cos boudicca burnt colchester and the Romans fled to London which reduced colchester to a town.. Colchester was always in it rights to be a city again as we once were

Lived in Colchester 1988 beautiful experience I remember joining Royal Anglian 5th battalion recorded time of 6 mins 24 for 1 1/2 miles big hello to Sargent Major Baker if your still around 👍😎

The place has never looked better - I lived there in the early 80's and the change is quite dramatic.
