A tip for those who don’t like the stomach drops, the direction the ride swings, lean the opposite direction as it lessens the uncomfortable feeling and so you cant really feel it!

The reason you feel your stomach “drop” on pirate ships and drop towers is because your organs literally move inside of you when you go on a ride. The G’s force your stomach upwards and the drop feeling comes from the empty space where your stomach usually would be but because it moved upwards the space is empty.

The drop on this seems to of been tamed down. I rode this in the 80's and it went much higher. Defunctland also shows this on their Black Hole history.

Been on this last year, wanted to go on Nemesis but friends backed down because they don't like rollercoasters like that, didn't wanna force them and I didn't wanna go on on my own, so went on this instead and I was left with one friend, an adrenaline junkie, who said we should try it out after the others went on the teacup things. She was like "Oh its fine! It doesn't even do stomach drops look",  yet as soon as we got on she was like "I wanna get off!" Fine later on though found ourselves cry laughing

I’m honestly so sad this ride is being removed, only opening day ride left so the amount of history it has is incredible as well as using the old pit and op box from thunder looper. Also it was such a great family ride and still is quite thrilling even now but towers are becoming less and less inclusive for families and they don’t even host a closing event for this giving it the same treatment as enterprise but for nemesis they had a whole event, blade will be missed and FV will never feel the same again

If you sit in the middle you do not go as high, as on the left/right it goes quite high..I went on nemesis, smiler, this and the oblivion like 2 times each

Very much dislike pirate ships, I never feel safe in them.I wouldn't mind the middle but I'll be forced to sit at one of the ends I bet.

It no wounder alton towers getting rid of it, it lost all it attributes looks shabby as hell
