Color accurate ips display
17 in laptop
SD card slot
1440p 144hz screen
And maybe within a decent price range lol

Yea 17in isn't super portable but I mean more screen and higher Rez to me seems better for both games and creators a good in between.

This computer is super costly. What would you recommend in the 2k and under price range?

Well... most of the HP Z-book line has all the requirements all the creators (who you asked) and you yourself mentioned. And it also has the elusive SD-card slot! One thing I find a little annoying is when 15" laptops catering to creators does not have a num pad. Especially when they have the space to include it! I am a rookie with Premier Pro so I can't comment on that, but After Effects has a few keyboard shortcuts that utilize the num pad. So not having that can be a little annoying.

Asus Zenbook Pro Duo 🤤🤤🤤 My MSI GS65 is currently on eBay (for the Zenbook) because that 300 nit screen is driving me crazy! Dimmer than my 2012 MacBook Pro, like seriously 7 years of technological advancements and we get a dimmer display, 😋

I'm a 3D animator, so the more powerful..well everything the better, looks and portability can take a hike, give me raw power

I think upgradeable ram, ssd, sd card, good cpu and graphics and tb3, great cooling or the base line.
Good screen and not to heavy is also a must.
optimized software!
pluses are a second ssd, dedicated ethernet port, hdmi, usba, seprearate audio in and out and digital audio out, battery indicator, and possible usb charging or pluses.
But #1 is reliability, great service and a fair price for the machine and memory/ssd upgrades.

Fantastic video. Really helpful. I am using a Surface Book 2 and I love it. I also use the surface pro and love that too - there is no substitute for really knowing what your own use case for a PC is. It is then that you can really start looking for the best machine for what you do. I have in the past fallen for going for the highest spec and finding that I was not getting the best productivity out of it. I have found a sweet spot I think. I am of course looking forward to the new machines that are coming down the pipe but keeping my own use case in mind helps when thinking about upgrading. I attempt to keep ann 18-30 month replacement cycle (resale value plays a big role here) - sometimes breaking that rule if something very good comes out or if I find a really good deal on newer tech. The personal use case is king and as that is changing - so my requirements are changing. Again - loved the vid. Am a subscriber for some time and really look forward to your thoughtful and thought-provoking videos. Thanks for putting in the work Please keep doing it - you really are doing a great job.
