City Walks - Italy Walking Tour - Treadmill Walk at home - Workout - Venice Mestre - 4K

We're walking in Italy! We flew into Venice and spent a night in Venice Mestre which is the mainland side of Venice. Many people stay here when they visit Venice because there are cheaper hotels and restaurants and they can get to the old city in a few minutes by train. I think it has a lot to offer visitors on its own. We'll visit the island a bit later in the trip. I couldn't help going out and filming a walk for you guys. I'm so excited to share our Italy walking holiday with you. I'd never been to this part of Venice, IT before and I really like it. We start out at the Venice Mestre Train Station and walk along a bike path to the old center with lots of wonderful old shops, cafes, hotels, and piazzas. The locals are out with their pets and children and friends enjoying the cafes and the cool evening air. And there are bikes everywhere. It's a really bike friendly place and I love it. It is so good to see a non-touristic Italian city featured. We have all seen places like Venice, Rome, Florence etc. It is interesting to see how the Italian people live their lives away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist crowds.

Oh my goodness! I have been to Venice! We went in 2011 to Vicenza and stayed 2 weeks. It was amazing. We went to Pisa, Cinque Terre, Lake Como, and the guys toured the Lamborghini factory. Plus more. It was the best trip ever!!

Enjoyed the walk. Glad you are back to your international travels again, Henry. Visited Venice twice before, but that was a long time ago in the early 90’s. I did get a chance to see the winged bronze lion ( that stands on a column in St. Mark’s Square) from ground level, as they were restoring it. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your trip. you really sound excited to be there and explore, been a long time. Your european walks have been the best for me personally.
This one reminds me of my own exploration around Belgrade, Serbia when I had to go there for work and explored around Republic Square and the fort with all the cafes and outside dining areas.
