Thank you so very much for this magnificent instrument. I never heard of this before and my soul is filled with joy. I shall always cherish my beloved bongos. My physical health & blood sugar has improved significantly. Thank you so much for your wonderful videos!

I've seen a lot of cajon tabs and travel cajons from different companies. Which one would be the best, in terms of authenticity?

I play my tab professionally for a country gospel group and most really like it!

Do you have classes with a normal cajon?
This one is very interesting by the way, but I never seen it here where I live.

Hi Kilarni I have been a professional musician in the past playing piano guitar and saxaphone. I have always had a hankering after playing drums and really like the the Cajon drum bongo you demonstrated and loved the tones and flexibility in the instrument.. I am now however 70 but really would love to play percussion with some of my musician friends who are starting up a new band for fun. As I have a good sense of rhythm I think I'd really enjoy this new challenge. Only trouble is I do have a bit of arthritus in my fingers and wondered do you think this would be a problem for me as it works out at Aus $442 with freight which is quite an outlay to then find I cannot manage it!! I'd appreciate your guidance on this. Thanks Alison Perth Australia

i was looking at lists of percussion instruments that attempt to be complete lists - a tricky task if you are trying to be inclusive of world percussion instruments. I noticed that you quickly encounter a classification/naming problem. For example ... "Is a balafon a marimba by another name?" Almost, but not quite.

The really tricky area is membranophones. I wonder if anyone has ever found a good comprehensive list of world drums that handles this well. It seems to me that a perfect inclusive list would recognize the major shapes (goblet, conical, cylindrical, hourglass, tongue/slit, etc.) but also major differences in sound produced due to intended tension in the drumhead. But i don't think drums that are essentially identical despite existing in different musical traditions and being called different things necessarily need to be treated as totally seperate instruments.

The Wikipedia list is useless in this regard.

Thoughts?

1lb = .0.45 kg / all you had to do was Google it and say it in your video … not .. “I live in America” …. I live in America too, this information is accessible via internet. Just like your video about a traveling cajon I found when searching Google… #simple #effort #research
