After 7000 miles of riding with these tyres and after seeing a few questions online about their performance. I thought I would put this review together to hopefully help other riders out with their next tyre choice.

Many thanks for sharing your experience. I've just ordered a pair for my RE Hunter. Gives me great confidence I'm getting good tyres for my sort of riding up country lanes. I've also sunscribed so I look forward to watching your other videos

Good review and accurate. I have a 24 Transalp 750 and ride on back roads and off road in Ohio. I agree with your assessment, after they brake in, they are quite, excellent on wet or dry pavement. Good off light roading riding on gravel and dirt/sand. As you mentioned I would not use them in heavy sand or mud, but I wouldn't use any 80/20 tire in those conditions. I have 3, 400 miles on mine, no noticeable wear, but I doubt I'll get 9, 000 miles off them. My tires have no sign of bead flattening, however my tires show wear closer to outer edge of the tread because I ride aggressive on a winding river road with lots of curves, and lean the bike over. I had Dunlop TrailMax Mission tires on my CB500X, they performed OK, but didn't last 4, 500 miles when the tread was down to 2/32nds. I replaced them with Michelin Anakee Adventure that are dual compound tires, harder rubber in middle for wear and softer on edges for grip. They preformed better on pavement and gravel/dirt than the Dunlop tires, but they were very noisy at certain speeds. Had them on the bike for 3, 200 miles before I totaled it on gravel/dirt road, but I understand some deaf bikers have gotten 11, 000 plus miles out of them.

I've got the Karoos, I like them and they suit the mix of road/gravel road that I do very well. When new, the "hum" from them on the highway was very noticeable. I've got 2000 klms on them now. Like you, I don't see any reason why I wouldn't just buy them again.

I live in Baja Mexico and ride my AT outfitted with fresh Karoo Streets mostly between two towns. The drive includes about 8 miles of rough dirt road and 120 miles of bad asphalt each way, including a lot of very nasty potholes. I manage to miss most of them but this past week I caught one going about 50mph. Got a pinch flat in front and also a good dent in my rim. Fortunately I didn't crash. After changing the tube and putting it back together I noticed a nice bump in the sidewall, almost like it ballooned out a bit in the spot that took the hit. I rode a further 20 miles to home and then I removed the tire and banged the rim straight with a heavy sledge hammer. Put it back together and I still have the bump in the sidewall. I'm thinking maybe the carcass of the tire has been damaged. Never had that happen before. I'll do my commute tomorrow slow and see how it works out. Tires are not easy to come by this far south of the border in Baja.

That's a good review! I bought a 2021 Africa Twin, and took it on two off road trips. I liked the rear tire better than the front. The front didn't seem to have the stability. My wear was about the same as yours. I just ordered a Bridgestone Battle ax 41 front and a Motoz Adventure rear. I have to say though for a stock set of tires they did pretty good! They were great on the road just looking for a bit more off road.

It's always good to find a tyre that you have confidence in and work for you and your style of riding.
I remember having a set of OM tyres on my Tracer 900GT from new. They terrified me in the wet, no confidence in them at all. owners said they changed the tyres and it changed the bike. I just changed the bike, it was too small for me really, and probably should never have gotten it.

Thanks for this and perfect timing for me. I have just over 4000 KM on mine so far and will be going on a 3000ish KM ride in a couple weeks and was wondering if I should swap these out before. The tread depth looks to be plenty to me and they've been wearing great so thanks for the extended use review and I should be safe to make the trip without issue. I ordered some Motoz Tractionator's to replace the Mezler's for a bit more grip off-road. On-road I really can't complain about the Metzler's other than some buzzing around 100 km/h from the rear tire but that seems to have faded

I have 2400 miles on my TA fitted with Karoo's. I like them a lot. Very confidence inspiring in the wet. I think they're wearing faster than I would like. I don't think i'll get 9k out of them.

I have these on my new Transalp. The drone from the rear is horrendous! I have only done 300 miles and it hasn’t been enjoyable ones. The demo bike I test rode had Dunlops and there was no drone noise. The dealer wouldn’t swap them, so now I have to wait until approx 1000 miles for the drone to disappear. I will probably lose the will to live by that time! Can’t wait to change them to anything else!

I got 7k (km) out of my rear tyre (until 2mm thread depth wear lowest point). Wonder how did you mange to get 60% more.

I tend to appreciate the stock karoo street tires on and off road. Ive started looking for replacements since i have a little over 2000 miles and the rear is probably about half way worn.
