I found this video when i searched "why do Priests/Pastors wear uniforms?" Thank you for the explanation. Can i also conclude that because the line of Aaronic Priesthood no longer holds then this regalia thing by Priest is an old testament thing? (Heb 7:11-12). Not disparaging the OT in any way but as understood, it was/is a shadow of reality and fullfilled all in Christ? Do we really need regalia for any set(s) of offices in the Church as we all have been made a kingdom and Priests by Christ Jesus to seeve God? (Rev 1:5-6).

Would i be wrong to say, we do not need regalia for the office of a priest anymore in the dispensation of grace? And that it's a mere tradition/culture, please? Thanks.

I love this video, I subscribed before I saw the video because I loved the same, I want to become a bishop when I grow up, I'm currently an Altar Server at my church and always, every Sunday, do to church, I look forward to Sundays, and what really got me into this, is when I was an Altar Server for a confirmation mas, with the Bishop, and then, after the mass, he gave me a card with a picture of Jesus, and I felt very special, and I plant to study Catholic Philosophy, get a Doctor's degree in theology, and in Catholic Philosophy, and become a good priest, and even a bishop. Every night I pray to got to help lead me in the right path to become a bishop. I took a test on buzzfeed to see which Catholic saint matched me most, and I got St. Ambrose of Milan, patron of bees (btw I love bees) and [Arch]bishop of Milan. (Also this happened about 1.5 months ago, and I'm only 12) Wish me luck people, and God bless you all!

If Peter was the first 'bishop' in the catholic church, then all bishops please listen to his words; " Tend the flock of God that is in your charge not by constraint but willingly, not for shameful gain but eagerly, not as DOMINEERING over those in your charge but being example to the flock". ( 1 Peter 5:2 'The Holy bible Revised standard Catholic Edition). So how does one feel about the purple robes, the mitre, the golden cross necklace, the crozier, the throne, the palace, the adulaltion, the kissing of the ring, the 'palace', the servants e.t.c? In the early church 'bishops' ( overseers/elders were to be just ordinary men who served as a group within their congregations. They were mostly working men, fishermen. shepherds, "Ordinary & unlettered" ( Acts 4:13). makes you think doesnt it? I hope so. To me it shows how far 'christendom' fell from the life pattern and structure of the early Christians

Spanish Jesuit Bernardino Llorca explained "First rhere was no distinction between 'bishops' ( overseeers) & 'presbyters' ( elders) they were synonemous. ( See Acts 20:17) but gradually the 'bishops' became more important and assumed supreme spiritual authority " ( 'History of the Catholic church'). Then from a group of such 'bishops' in each congregation with equel power, they became a 'monoepiscopate' ( One bishop per cong) then under the influence of the Roman empire they even replaced the secular district rulers of the 'diocese' throughout Italy & europe'. Thus Christioanity in its purer from was replaced by a politically based, harsh, pagan empire! (Just as Paul went on to predict in verse 30 of Acts 20!)

Because of the bad reputation of catholic priest, there should be a background check on priest who molested boys or are sexual predators. Once cleared, then he his worthy to wear the uniform of bishop.

If you wear a 2 foot tall hat you aren't just telling me your profession, cause you could do that with a pin or something. A 2 foot tall hat means you want me to think of you as my superior. And that's fine but don't be silly- is a king a king all the same without his crown and throne? No.
