No, Steve Davis never said or thought he could beat Efren at pool. The two always had a mutual respect for each other.

Professional snooker sometimes beats a professional pool player but yet it never happens the other way around a pool player can never beat a snooker player in a snooker match ..💯🇯🇲🇬🇧👍

The previous year, Davis fought back from 8-2 down to beat Reyes 9-8.

Two very different disciplines. Can't really say one is easier than the other. Pool balls are bigger and heavier. The strategies are different. Pool is by balls. Snooker is points based. But I still never saw a top pro pool player step out and compete with a top level snooker player in snooker.

He doesn't think he can outplay Efren, he was just having a go at another cue sport.

Oh and Steve has a win over Efren at 9-ball too, not something that would have been very likely the other way around at snooker.

You can see Steve Davis being a really good snooker player on how steady and precise he executes his shots.

Steve Davis is a really decent and humble man. It's silly to present him like this.

15:08: An amateur might think it's surprising that he missed that shot, but the 4 wasn't the issue. Getting to the 5 is what made the shot so much more difficult.

Snooker players can play decent pool. Pool players cannot play decent snooker. Snooker is harder by a wide margin.

Which is a much harder game? POOL or SNOOKER? 🧐

17:40 It's not like "believe", buddy, it's a fact. And the fact that snooker players can easily play pool and even beat many players and reach the finals of tournaments, while not a single pool player can beat anyone playing snooker, confirms this. It's very funny to watch how people praise this amateur Efren, supposedly he is the greatest billiards genius of all time. There is nothing “magical” about him. When I played pool, I also periodically managed to score balls like the ones he scores. So what? Am I a magician now? No, I'm just an amateur pub player. Just like him. He doesn't do anything special. With such a size of the table and pockets, you can simply hit it harder and the ball will eventually fly into one of the pockets from 15 cushions. This is not magic, this is the theory of probability. I'm not saying that I can beat Efren in pool, not even close, especially considering that I haven't played pool for a long time because it's too easy for me, but in pool I can easily clear the table with one break if there's a good position, and in snooker it’s great luck if I manage to pot three balls in a row. Pool is just much easier, that's all. The difference between me and Efren in pool is hundreds of times less than the difference between me and Steve in snooker. As one commentator correctly noted, if these two playing snooker, Efren would have lost 0-9.

Would love to see some Pinoys playing snooker vs snooker Elite.

As an American that would rather watch snooker any day, I do appreciate pool and have a high respect for the ability of most pool players, Earl Strickland being the exception because he is an a$$hole. The games are very different but also similar. I enjoy watching these competitions but I have never found a video of the two disciplines on a snooker table. WHY? Does it ever go the other way or do they always meet on pool table?
