Cleft awareness: Cleft lip is a congenital condition where there is a split or an open section of the upper lip, sometimes extending as high as the nose.  Cleft palate is also a congenital defect, but the location of cleft palate is on the palate, often leaving an opening between the mouth and nasal cavity.

I have both. Thirty surgeries later. And more to come. People are so mean they need to understand that we can’t help that we were born with this effect. They should be nicer.

I have a cleft lip and palate and have always loved surgery because it fixes what’s wrong with me.

People need to be kinder to people with clefts.

I also have that condition belive me i get soo many stares everyday 😂 also its so difficult to communicate because there are certain words i cant say properly

Ma'am am the mother of a child with cleft lip and palate. I am not worried about his looks but I keep worrying about how his communication would be. Whoever has gone through this, please tell me what things I should keep in mind due to which I may not face any kind of problem while talking to him in the future. So that I don't have to face it.

I have this. It’s soo annoying when people make fun of me for it like have you ever had like 6 surgeries in your life? Didn’t think so. All the people in my school are idiots and find that a way to make fun of me.

My son just went back for his repair literally at 1130am should be back in a hr 1/2
