Apps are super hard to get right. Companies need to be sure they want to even get into it and throw a dedicated team to the project. Clearly Moondrop underestimated the endeavour.

I honestly prefer the Alice in term of sounds but that's probably because i love the Kato so much. But im 100% agree with you with the user experience, hence i use my buds 2 pro more when im outside lol

That case is no that big, I don't know what size of pockets you have but the Sparks (similar size) fit mine just fine. I will agree that the app/user experience isn't top notch but for those more interested in sound there won't be any regrets. I would have liked a comparison between the Alice and the Sparks, because anyone wanting to buy the Alice might also be interested in the Sparks ($80) it would just depend on which is a better value; besides the Sparks comes in different colors and even with the case it is still sub $100.

It’s actually super surprising that buds 2 pro sounds better than Alice. I was looking to upgrade to the Kato from the Aria (already have the Buds 2 Pro). If Alice sounds better than Kato and Buds 2 Pro > Alice, is there no point to buy the Kato?

also you can only fully experience the galaxy buds 2 Pro when you are using samsung device, else your stuck at SBC and AAC. only samsung devices can use their "Samsung Seamless Codec Hi-fi"

I agree, i also prefer the sound signature on the buds 2 pro but, what about the soundstage, the details, instruments separation, etc.? Or it is all about the sound signature? In that case, my 2 years old TWS Fiil T1 Pro ($60) is better than the Alice since it has almost the same sound signature than the Buds 2 Pro? (Almost exactly the same but with 2 or 3 db more arround the 3kHz and without the 15 kHz peak)
