How to convert Julian days into dates in excel

In this video I show how to change the cell formatting in excel and use custom formatting to show Julian days as date and time.

Julian days are simply a continuous count of days and fractions instead of dates. They were originally called Julian days because they came from the Julian calendar and started on noon Universal Time on January 1, 4713 BC. However the name is now used for other continuous counts of days. For example day one in excel is 01/01/1900.

Julian date has an actual definition, you may not simply redefine it as you see fit. Day zero in the Julian date system is 1 January 4713 BC, not Jan 1 of
